Timecards need an hourly rate, which comes from the employee's Roles list. "Employee need to have at least 1 job role!" means the employee has no roles at all, and can show up either when a manager saves a timecard on the Timesheets page or when the employee clocks in from their Dashboard: open HR Tools > Employees > Employees, add at least one role with a rate ("No assigned role" with a rate is enough) and try again. "Please provide a valid job role!" specifically happens when an employee clocks in from their Dashboard for a shift whose assigned role has since been deleted. On the admin Timesheets page, picking a role that no longer exists shows a different message, "Invalid Job Role !", instead — just pick another role from the dropdown.
