Every page in the POS area checks that the right module is turned on and that you hold the right permission before it opens, and if either check fails it quietly sends you back to the dashboard instead of showing an error message. So an unexpected bounce back to the dashboard almost always means either the required module (POS or POS Menu) isn't enabled on the account, or the signed-in user or employee is missing the specific permission for that page.
