When an ingredient used in a meal recipe is itself made up of other ingredients (a sub-recipe, e.g. "House Vinaigrette"), the Cooking Report expands it recursively and shows both the sub-recipe total needed and its own child ingredients, up to about 10 levels deep — so you can see either "make X quarts of vinaigrette" or drill into what raw ingredients that vinaigrette itself needs.
