The generator can only pick active recipes that belong to the requested category (and, with the AND search type, that also satisfy the diet filters). If a category has fewer eligible meals than the quantity you set, you get only what exists. Meals that were already on the date are re-saved rather than duplicated (Sprwt upserts on the existing menu row), so the visible increase can be smaller than the number reported in the success message. Check the category assignments and active status of your recipes under Kitchen > Meals, or lower the quantities.
