A commission is created automatically when an order is saved. Sprwt first checks whether any coupon in the cart belongs to an affiliate; if so, that affiliate gets the commission. Otherwise, if the ordering customer is attributed to an affiliate, that affiliate is used. The affiliate must be Is Active, their rule active and not past Contract Ending, and a commission step must still be running for that customer (timed from the customer's own attribution date, or today if they have none — even when the commission is triggered purely by a coupon from a different affiliate).

The commission is calculated on the portion of the order actually charged to the customer's card or other payment method (percent) or as the flat value, and stored as Unpaid with the rule/step details. When the buyer's own account is attributed to the affiliate (via the link or a manual assignment), the order itself is also tagged with that affiliate; a commission earned purely from a coupon does not add that tag, though the commission record itself is still created and reportable. No commission is created for guests or when no rule step applies.
