A cart is flagged abandoned when it has not been checked out and has had no activity for longer than Business: Cart > Abandon Cart: Timeframe to consider abandoned (in minutes) (default 30). Only carts tied to a registered customer account are considered (the report query joins carts to their user, so a cart with no matching user is excluded). Once flagged, the cart appears in the Abandoned Carts report until the customer completes it.
