It links your local record to the equivalent entry in Sprwt's shared ingredient database so that ingredients imported from Database land in the right unit, category, allergen and dislike. Set it in the edit form's Ingredient API dropdown or click the value in the Ingredients API column of the list to change it inline ("Not mapped" means nothing is linked). The field only appears when the Ingredients API module is enabled; it has no effect on anything else.
