Events (proposals) is where you build a priced quote for a catering event, private dinner or personal-chef engagement, send it to the customer, collect their signature and payment, and track the event through to completion. Use it whenever you need a formal quote with line items (meals, custom meals, labor & equipment, invoice items), contracts, deposits and a customer-facing page — rather than a normal online order.

A proposal has two audiences: your team edits it under Catering > Events, and the customer sees a private page at /proposals/{id} on your website where they can accept, sign, message you and pay. Statuses (New, Sent, Signed and Approved, Partially Paid, Fully Paid, Past Due, Rejected, Completed, Archived) move automatically as the customer acts and as payments come in.
