Both screens share the same order-building interface. Checkout As (the Checkout As link under Ordering in the side menu, /admin/checkouts/new) is the back-office version: no device pairing, no cash drawer, and no employee login/clock-in step, and once payment succeeds you're taken straight to that order's detail page. POS (/admin/pos) opens the identical screen in POS mode, which adds a registered-device picker, a cash-drawer start step, an employee login/clock-in flow, a receipt prompt after every sale, and menu items that only show up in this mode: Transactions, Orders (with pickup and refund-with-reason handling) and Reports; it also shows a POS Menu category in the ordering sidebar that Checkout As doesn't have. Both screens require the Checkout As module to be turned on — POS mode additionally requires the POS module on top of it. Access is split by permission group too: the Checkout As permission group (which includes per-order-type permissions like Packs, Extras, Grab and Go) controls the back-office screen and menu link, while the separate POS permission group (Can Checkout, List Transactions, Refund Transactions/Orders, etc.) controls POS mode.
