It is a secret key, unique to your install, that lets Sprwt's own AI support and debugging tools through the AI block. A tool sends it as the X-Sprwt-Ai-Key header or as ?aikey= in the URL; the session then remembers it so a link-following agent is not stopped on its second request, and every use is recorded as authorized_ai in the log. Sprwt superadmins manage it on the AI Scrape Log: Generate a key when none exists, Reveal the key (visible until reload; never paste it into tickets or screenshots), and Rotate if it leaks – the old key stops working immediately and the page shows when and by whom it was last rotated. Requests from the server itself and any entries in the AI block exceptions allowlist (user-agent fragments or IPs) also pass. Business admins do not normally need the key; ask Sprwt if you have a legitimate integration being blocked.
