Catering Online Ordering (the "catering" module) is a self-serve storefront: customers browse a dedicated catering menu, add trays/portions to a cart, pick a delivery/pickup date and event time, and check out and pay themselves — the same way they would on the regular meal-prep site. Proposals (the "proposals" module, under Events) is the opposite workflow: a staff member builds a custom quote for a specific client (meals, labor & equipment, venue, pricing, a contract), sends it to the client to review and e-sign, and the order is never self-checked-out from a public menu. A business can run either module alone or both together; when both are on, the Catering Dashboard and several catering reports merge data from both systems, internally tagging each combined line as coming from "Catering" or "Events" depending on which system it came from.
