Sprwt walks up the tree. Every sub-recipe that contains the ingredient (directly or through other sub-recipes) gets its food cost recalculated if it is in automatic cost mode, and its macros recalculated if Auto Macros is on. Then every meal recipe that uses the ingredient or any of those sub-recipes gets a new production price for its default portion and for each portion size, and its macros are refreshed for portions set to auto macros. This runs when you save the ingredient/sub-recipe form, and when you edit price, base weight/unit, allergens or dislikes inline from the Ingredients list. It does not run when prices are updated through a receipt import (individually or in bulk) — those save the new ingredient price directly without recalculating sub-recipe or meal costs, so re-open and re-save an affected sub-recipe/meal if you need its cost refreshed after an import. Meal selling prices are never changed automatically.
