Each delivery/pickup date has a lifecycle: Open → Close → Finish, with an Open (reopen from Finished) action too. These close/open/finish links only appear (and only work) when none of the meal-prep-style modules (À la Carte/mealsbyunit, Packs, Subscriptions) are enabled — i.e. on catering-only accounts. Closing a day marks it closed and stops it from accepting more orders; Finishing it locks the day down and, if the Wholesale module is also enabled, pushes the day's catering meal quantities into wholesale pickup-point stock (a matching push for Retail exists in the code but is currently commented out/disabled). If the system auto-closed a day and you reopened it, a red banner on the dashboard reminds you "You will need to manually close this day."
