When turned on, a new order arriving through the live feed pops up a dismissible toast in the corner of the screen — title, short message, and a link — for about 5 seconds, in addition to updating the bell badge.

Enable New Notifications Side Popup On Mobile is a separate toggle for the same toast specifically on phone-sized screens; the desktop toggle alone does not show it on mobile. This toast only fires for new orders — see the real-time delivery question above for why other notification types don't trigger it.
