• Active: auto-renew is on.
• Cancelled (date): the customer or staff cancelled it; hover the info icon to see the actual cancellation date in a tooltip (the date shown in parentheses next to the label is not reliable — it can show the last pause date instead).
• Paused (date): paused with no scheduled restart.
• Unpausing <date>: paused but scheduled to resume on that date.
• Paused (no date): paused by the system, which happens when the subscription reached the end of its period without renewing.

In the current version, rows are not visually shaded by renewal-buffer or past-end status — that highlighting is present in the underlying code but isn't actually applied to any row, so don't rely on background color to spot at-risk subscriptions; use the status text/tooltip instead.
