These two Client Config toggles (tab Notifications) control whether new/incoming POS orders are flagged for the counter, and whether the POS Orders screen's badge count refreshes automatically the moment a new order comes in. Both need to be set to Yes together for the POS screen's order-count badge to auto-refresh live; if either is off, the count only updates when the page is manually reloaded.
