What do the order statuses mean (Unpaid, Paid, Total Refund, Pending Authentication, Partial Refund, Canceled)?
- Unpaid — the order was created but payment was not taken (e.g. pay-later, check, or a failed automatic charge). Staff can Confirm Checkout Payment or Cancel Checkout.
- Paid — payment was received.
- Total Refund — the entire amount has been refunded.
- Pending Authentication — the card payment is waiting for the customer to complete 3-D Secure authentication (only on accounts where Sprwt has enabled 3DS). Sprwt re-checks Stripe when you open the order and moves it to Paid or Canceled automatically.
- Partial Refund — at least one item or a custom amount has been refunded but not the full total.
- Canceled — the order was cancelled (manually from an Unpaid state, or automatically when a pending card authentication failed).
The status chip appears in the list, in the order header and in the Basic Info card, which also shows Changed on <date> by <user> when the status was changed.
