What do the four coupon Types mean?

The Type dropdown in the Discount Rules card offers:

  • Amount in Cart — Fixed Dollar Amount ($): takes the Value off the order subtotal (never more than the subtotal itself).
  • Percentage of Cart (Subtotal): takes Value % off the subtotal (capped at 100%).
  • Fixed Dollar Amount to add to Digital Wallet: the order price is not reduced; instead, after the order is paid, the Value is credited to the customer's digital wallet as "Cashback Coupon #CODE".
  • Fixed Percentage to add to Digital Wallet (Subtotal): same idea, but the credit is Value % of the order subtotal.

In the coupon list, the first and third types are labelled "Value" and the second and fourth "Percentage". Only the first two types can be used for recurring-subscription discounts, and only the Percentage type can be combined with Exclude Meals from Coupon.
