A group is just a Name (e.g. Type, Diet, Protein) that collects related categories. Groups become the section headings of the category filters on the admin Meal Recipes list and the optgroup labels in the Categories dropdown of the meal editor, and they shape storefront filtering: Business: General > Meals Filtering decides whether a customer's selections are combined as "(A or B) AND (1 or 2)" across groups, or all OR / all AND. The AI meal generator also looks specifically for groups literally named Type and Diet (case-insensitive) to populate its category and diet pickers. Manage groups under Settings > Kitchen Settings > Meal Categories Groups.
