Rules let Sprwt assign a category to a transaction automatically based on its description. There are two kinds, both managed per category from the Chart of Accounts:

• Keyword Rules – you type a keyword such as AMAZON or WHOLE FOODS; if a transaction description contains that keyword (case-insensitive) it is assigned this category.
• Learned Rules – created automatically when you manually categorize a transaction and mark it reviewed; they match a description exactly (case-insensitive).

When a transaction is checked, keyword rules win over learned rules, and among rules of the same kind the one with the highest Matched count wins. Only categories valid for the transaction's type (deposit or withdrawal) are considered. Matches are applied when transactions are imported from your bank (if the setting is on) and when you click Re-categorize All.
