If the automatic charge for a past-due proposal fails, does Sprwt keep retrying it?

No — auto-charge on a past-due proposal is only attempted once, at the moment it's marked past due. If that charge fails, Sprwt flags the proposal with an auto-charge error, logs what went wrong, emails both the customer and your store's admin address, and notifies the event team — but it won't automatically try charging the card again.

Proposals stuck in this state show up in the Catering Dashboard's auto-charge-errors list, so staff can follow up (contact the customer for a new card, or collect payment manually). The error flag clears automatically the next time a payment is successfully applied to that proposal, whether the customer pays it themselves or staff record a payment manually.
