It shows up in the original order's period, not the day you clicked Refund. The refund tile on Gross Sales ("Total Refunds"), Wholesale ("Total Refund") and the Wholesale/Retail Grab&Go report ("Total Refund") sums the refund amount recorded on the order and filters by the order's creation date, so a February order refunded in March still counts as February's refund. There is no way to see refunds grouped by the date they were processed – only by the date the underlying order was placed. Keep this in mind when reconciling a month's numbers against your bank statement: a refund issued this month can quietly change last month's report if you go back and reload it.
