When a dispute opens, Stripe reverses the payment and charges a dispute fee - $15 for United States accounts, as stated on the Processing Fees page and listed under All system fees as Disputes Fee $15. On the dispute's detail page, Amount is the reversed payment, Fee is the dispute fee (shown in red) and Net is the total taken from your balance. If you win, the disputed amount comes back; the fee is only returned in cases where Stripe's policy allows it. Dispute fees for a period are also totalled as Total Dispute Fees on the Service Fees Report (Stripe > Fees).
