At checkout Sprwt first validates the customer's address with Shippo (Shippo: The shipping address could not be verified. if it fails – there is no fallback to in-house routes). It then requests rates for one parcel using your Parcel Template, with weight = number of meals × Weight per Meal from the bag type (or the default Meal Weight (lb)) plus any dry-ice weight, and optional insurance capped at $100. The customer can pick a rate; otherwise the cheapest is used. The shipping charge is carrier rate + Sprwt Processing Fee ($) and is shown as a separate shipping line rather than the zip-code delivery fee. Rates are cached for 5 minutes per address.
