How is the ingredient cost (COGS per Qty) calculated from a receipt?
Sprwt stores the ingredient's production price as COGS ÷ Total Product Servings × Base Weight. For example a $30 case that yields 10 servings of a 2 lb ingredient gives (30 ÷ 10) × 2 = $6.00 per base quantity. If Base Weight is 0 (and servings is greater than 0), it falls back to COGS ÷ Total Product Servings with no multiplier. If Total Product Servings is 0, the price falls back to COGS itself. The COGS per Qty box on the card updates as you type so you can sanity-check before confirming. This value becomes the ingredient's normal price used in recipe costing.
