Here's how the four ordering channels compare:

• Meal Prep / A la Carte — ordered for a future delivery/pickup date, from the Meal Prep menu(s), on the kitchen's online/retail fulfilment days. Kitchen staff work from the Cooking / Fulfilment reports. Delivery uses your transporters or zip pricing. Reports group: "Meal Prep".
• Catering — ordered for an event date, from the Catering menu, on the kitchen's catering days. Delivery uses your transporters. Reports group: "Catering".
• Real Time — ordered for today, at a specific time you choose (an ASAP window), from that day's Real Time Menu, during the kitchen's Realtime fulfilment days and published time windows. Kitchen staff work from the KDS dashboard, moving each order through New → Processing → Ready → Waiting → Finished. Delivery is quoted live through Uber Direct and a courier is requested from the KDS. Reports group: "Real Time".

A customer cannot put Real Time items and, say, Meal Prep items on the same cart day; checkout is blocked until one of them is removed.
