A scheduled job, run by Sprwt's servers several times a day, does the work:

1. It reads the current weekday's rule from the Cut-off Timer. If that weekday is switched off, nothing happens.
2. If the current time is earlier than that weekday's Time to close, it stops and tries again on its next run.
3. Otherwise it finds every delivery date that is still open, has never been auto-closed before, and is earlier than now + "How many days to close?" days, and marks them closed, stamping them as automatically closed with the time.
4. If the pending-meals setting is Automatically Have System Select Meals, it then auto-selects subscription meals for the next 7 days.

The dashboard header shows "This day was automatically closed on …" for dates closed this way, and the calendar's legend marks them In Progress until production is finished. Manual closes from the dashboard are recorded separately, with the user's name.
