How does the Profit And Loss Report use my accounting categories?
Alongside the sales figures from your orders, the report adds an accounting section built from your categorized transactions: Income (categories in the Income, Discount, Other Income, Uncategorized Income and Gain On Foreign Exchange groups), Cost of Goods Sold (the Cost of Goods Sold group), Gross Profit (Income − COGS, with a percentage), Operating Expenses (Operating Expense, Payment Processing Fee, Payroll Expense, Uncategorized Expense and Loss On Foreign Exchange groups) and Net Profit. In the current version the accounting section selects transactions by the date they were recorded in Sprwt rather than the transaction date, so freshly imported history may land in the period when it was imported. The report requires the Accounting module and the Profit & Loss permission.
