How do UTM parameters end up in my Google Analytics reports?
When a campaign (or flow email) has tracking on, Sprwt turns on the email provider's built-in Google Analytics link tagging and passes four of the standard values through it — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_term — taken from your Tracking page defaults or the campaign's custom parameters. A separate utm_id field, if you set one, is not part of that built-in tagging; instead it (and any other custom parameter you add) is appended directly onto the href of every link in a Drag and Drop Builder email when the campaign is sent. Dynamic options are resolved per campaign: Campaign name becomes the campaign's name, Campaign id its number, Campaign name (Send date) e.g. Fall Launch (2026-09-07), Email Subject the subject line, and Message Type Email. The email provider appends the four GA values to every tracked link when the recipient clicks, so in Google Analytics you can filter sessions by source/medium/campaign. In the current version, plain-text campaigns don't get the same automatic query-string append pass, so custom/utm_id parameters mainly show up reliably on Drag and Drop Builder emails. Make sure Google Analytics is installed on your website for the data to appear.
