How do the PnL Transaction tabs calculate Gross Profit and Net Profit?

The PnL Transaction Summary / Detailed tabs use the transactions you recorded in Accounting whose date falls in the range, grouped by the accounting category's type:

  • Income – all income-type categories; shown with Total Income.
  • Cost of Goods Sold – categories in the Cost of Goods Sold group.
  • Gross Profit = Total Income − Total Cost of Goods Sold, with a percentage of Total Income.
  • Operating Expenses – expense-type categories.
  • Net Profit – in the current version this is calculated as Total Income − Total Operating Expenses (Cost of Goods Sold is not deducted again here), also shown as a percentage of Total Income.

Only transactions assigned to a category appear; uncategorised transactions are ignored. Sections with no transactions show only their total line.
