Proposals are built by your team for a specific customer and event, while Catering online ordering lets customers order from a catering menu themselves — but the two share the same meals, portion sizes, Labor & Equipment items and cart pricing engine underneath. They are not shown on the same calendar, though: Proposals appear on Catering > Calendar (/admin/events/calendar) by event date — and that page only loads if both the Proposals module and the Venues module are enabled — while Catering online-ordering orders are tracked separately on Catering > Dashboard (/admin/catering/dashboard) by delivery date. Where they do come together is reporting: proposal payments are regular checkouts, so they feed your checkout/sales reports, and proposal meals for the event date are pulled into the same Catering Meals Report, Catering Inventory List, Catering Cooking Report and Catering Bags reports that catering online orders feed — filtered to the proposal statuses configured for reports (Fully Paid and Partially Paid by default). The Proposals Commission Report and Proposals Account Receivable Report, by contrast, are proposal-only and require the Proposals module specifically.
