Click any individual notification to mark just that one as read (and, if it links somewhere, you'll be taken there). Click Mark all as read in the panel or on the full-page header to clear every unread notification at once.

Marking a notification read doesn't delete it — it stays in your history, it's just no longer counted in the unread badge.
