Click the shift, then click Remove Shift in the Edit Shift window. A shift can only be removed while nobody has clocked in to it. Once a timecard exists for that shift you get "You cannot delete this shift since the employee already Clocked-in." In that case go to Timesheets, open the employee, edit the timecard and click Delete Timecard first, then remove the shift.
