Click the day number in any monthly or weekly cell (or the day heading in daily view). A small panel opens with two options: Create Event, which opens a blank new proposal, and View day, which switches to the daily view for that date. Close the panel with the x or by clicking elsewhere. Note that Create Event opens the standard new-proposal form; the clicked date is not pre-filled in the current version, so set the event date on the proposal.
