How are Scheduled Hours, Worked Hours, Balance, Total Paid Hours and Estimated Wage calculated?
For the selected date range:
- Scheduled Hours – the length of the employee's shifts on the Schedule.
- Worked Hours – clock-in to clock-out time on their timecards.
- Balance – Worked Hours minus Scheduled Hours (negative means they worked less than planned).
- Total Paid Hours – Worked Hours minus the time spent on unpaid breaks; paid breaks are not deducted.
- Estimated Wage – meant to be worked hours × the hourly rate on each timecard (the rate is pulled fresh from the employee's role each time a timecard is saved, not frozen from when it was created). In the current version, though, this summary figure is not a clean per-timecard sum: it is built by multiplying the running total of worked hours seen so far by each timecard's rate, so for an employee with more than one timecard in the date range the total comes out higher than a simple hours×rate sum. Treat it as a rough estimate only, especially over longer date ranges or busy employees.
- Timecards – the number of scheduled shifts/timecards in the period.
Treat all the summary card and table totals as estimates; the Estimated Wage shown on each individual row of an employee's own "Shifts & timecards" table (their detail page) is calculated per shift and is accurate.
