How to lock a menu for subscription re-ordering
Sprwt makes meal planning seamless for both your kitchen and your customers. With the Menu Lock feature, subscription customers can effortlessly re-order meals from a previous week with confidence—while the system smartly handles substitutions if needed.
Here’s how it works:
Step-by-Step: Locking a Menu from a Previous Checkout
1. Customer Accesses Their Dashboard
From their Sprwt dashboard, the customer selects the "Previous Orders" section and chooses a past checkout date they'd like to repeat.
2. Sprwt Matches Meals to the Current Week’s Menu
Once a date is selected, Sprwt will automatically try to lock in the exact meals from that past order—but only if those meals are available on the current menu.
- ✅ If the item is available: It’s added to the cart exactly as the customer ordered it.
- ❌ If the item is not available: The system automatically triggers a smart substitution process.
3. Smart Substitution with Customer Preferences
For unavailable meals, Sprwt uses the customer’s dietary preferences, allergen settings, and dislikes to randomly select an appropriate substitute from the current week’s offerings. This ensures:
- No allergens or flagged ingredients
- Substitutes that match the same meal category if relevant to your settings (e.g., breakfast, lunch, dinner)
- Alignment with diet type (e.g., keto, pescatarian, vegetarian)
Sprwt’s algorithm ensures customers don’t need to manually build their cart every week while still receiving meals they’ll enjoy and that meet their dietary needs.
4. Automatic Lock and Confirmation
Once the selections are finalized (original + substituted meals), Sprwt will lock the menu for that subscription order. Customers are notified via email or dashboard notification and can review or edit the selections before the final cutoff time.
ustomers can lock menus by going to their subscription dashboard.
